Shopping at CVS 101

From my experience, shopping at CVS can be very rewarding. In other words, lots of free stuff!!!

1. You have to have a CVS card. All you have to do is ask for one and they will put your name and phone number in the system.
2. First step: Always scan your card at the CVS coupon center that looks like this:

It will print CVS coupons for you. Many times coupons for FREE items.
3. You will find free stuff in every ad like this:

You will have to pay $.67 OOP but you will get a coupon with your receipt for $.67 called Extra Care Bucks (ECB).
4. You can use earned ECB to purchase other items on your next transaction.

Rules to live by:
  • ECB will only work with your card, so don't forget it.
  • ECB have an expiration dates so DON'T let them go to waste, it's free money!
  • Start small. Once you get the hang of it go BIG.
  • Sign up for CVS emails. You will often get coupons for specific itmes, %off copuons or $x off when you spend $x coupons.
  • You can use 1 CVS coupon and 1 Manufacturer coupon per item.
  • Sign up for the beauty club and earn $5 every $50 you spend. FYI- $50 before coupons. I have earned $10 in less than  2 months!

Live by example:
  • I get most of my paper items and beauty items from CVS for free or almost free. I've had transactions ring up to $50 and only had to pay $5.
  • You don't need to spend a lot OOP. Only set aside $5 or $10 to shop at CVS, which is more than enough.
